What are your thoughts on the Turkey Bowl’s relocation?

The annual Turkey Bowl football game between Calvert Hall and Loyola is moving to Towson’s Johnny Unitas Stadium this year because of the Ravens’ Thanksgiving night home game against the 49ers.

Will the move change the atmosphere for the 92nd edition of the game?

Should the teams have kept the game at M&T Bank Stadium and played on a different day?

Or is Unitas Stadium a better fit for the event in general?

Area lacrosse standouts make U.S. under-19 men’s roster

Calvert Hall 2010 graduate Rob Zoppo (Towson), Gilman 2011 grad Ryan Tucker (Virginia), and Calvert Hall rising junior Stephen Kelly earned spots on the 23-man roster for the U.S. men’s national under-19 team that will compete in the 2012 Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) U19 Men’s World Championships in Turku, Finland next summer.

The team was chosen by a player selection committee following a four-day tryout at UMBC last week in which 123 candidates challenged for positions.

Along with coach Tim Flynn and assistants Jack Crawford (Loyola), Tom Duquette and Tom Rotanz, the committee consisted of 20 coaches from 15 different states.

Players from eight states made the team.

The entire roster:

Coaches announced for U.S. Marine Corps Passing League Maryland

The U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Station Baltimore has announced that 17 high school head football coaches from the state have agreed to coach in the inaugural U.S. Marine Corps Passing League Maryland on July 23 at Woodlawn High School.

The seven-on-seven tournament features high school football players from throughout the state.

The following head coaches have agreed to participate:
