Childcare Programs-Helping Improve the Community

Posted by admin in Education Tips

Our children are our most valuable treasure, carrying the future of the world with them. It is vital that they are entered in quality childcare programs where little ones are nurtured, provided with opportunities to explore the world around them, socialize, and learn. When seeking childcare, research the possibilities that are available and remember that the goal is to have the best care for one’s children, not the most inexpensive care. Palm Beach County School Board agrees to consider Gent for permanent superintendent job

Posted by Jeremy Tunnecliffe in Education Tips

The Palm Beach County School Board will consider E. Wayne Gent, its interim superintendent, for the permanent job of running the nation’s 11th-largest school district.

Board members informally agreed to add Gent’s name to their list of finalists this afternoon, the day the three other candidates interviewed with the board for the job. The board is expected to select a new permanent superintendent for the 174,000-student district Feb. 15.

We have somebody sitting here that is working well, school board member Marcia Andrews said.

The board Nov. 2 chose Gent, its chief administrative officer and formerly principal at Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, to replace Bill Malone, who left office for health reasons.

The board said then Gent would not be eligible to apply for the permanent job, and he has not lobbied for it, said Frank Barbieri, the board’s chairman. Barbieri said Gent has told him he would accept the position if it were offered.

Gent was not immediately available for comment and was not at today’s school board meeting.

Andrews said she was disappointed that none of the three finalists were sitting superintendents.
